Flooding at the Richmond Mall 2013

Description

DescriptionTaken during flash flooding, or 'sheet flooding' in Richmond on Sunday 21 April 2013. The worst rain occurred there between 5.00pm-6.15pm, with more than 100mm falling in 90 minutes in some places.

Homes, shops and businesses in Richmond were flooded, including Pak n Save in the Richmond Mall. The carpark entrance to Pak n Save has since been redesigned. Queen Street in Richmond has also been redesigned since the 2013 floods, with new infrastructure for water supply, waste and stormwater to make the area more flood resilient.
