DescriptionThe Pearl Kaspar with a train engine being unloaded from the deck on to tracks. Handwritten on the bottom of the postcard is the wording ' No. 2 Landing a class "D" Locomotive From "Pearl Kaspar" For Mount Burnett Ltd. Colleries Railway.

According to the Otago Witness, Issue 3189, 28 April 1915, Mount Burnett Ltd were the proprietors of the Marble Creek Colliery, near Collingwood. The company planned to construct a railway from the base of Mount Burnett to Tamatea Point where they had access to deep water. They were working on a seam of gas and steam coal. CreatorF.
